Tara Cooley was born to talented parents in Louisville Kentucky. Her father lead a band for most of her life, while her mother, a real reniesannce woman, explored her talents in just about everything else. Tara was their third and last child together, and proven to be the most artistically talented. Everything from playing the double bass to writing poetry to dancing to stand up comedy and more, Tara has worn many hats. Most recently, diving into the world of screenwriting and directing. Her first project, Star Struck, is availablefor free streaming on the WATCH MVN app.

Tara Cooley created her film company, Herstory Film Productions with independence in mind. With acting as her number one passion, Tara decided to forgo the mainstream Hollywood route in to the business. Instead, she decided to start her film company. Many of the roles available to African Americans in her hometown were usually those of servitude. She aims to help break the demeaning stereotypes pushed on black communities. she realizes the more independent she remains, the more creative control she will have. It is also important to Tara to afford as many fresh faces an opportunity to film as possible. She keeps her filming sets fun and professional, making for a more enjoyable experience for all.
